The Meaning of Selene
The name ‘Selene’ comes from the Greek goddess of the moon. However, if you ask a Selene owner what the name means to them, they will likely talk about the exquisite balance of style, safety, and performance that is found in every Selene yacht.
Though each boat is distinct, common traits include a powerful raised pilothouse, the practical security of a Portuguese bridge, and a uniquely spacious bow.
Selene continually takes the simple and proven concept of the fuel efficient and seaworthy long-range yacht to a new level of luxury and owner satisfaction.
In 2022, we spent five months aboard, cruising the inside passage to Alaska, across the Gulf of Alaska, and our to the Kenai Peninsula. We put almost 5000 miles and 650 engine hours under her keel that summer alone. Everywhere we go, people comment on what a beautiful boat our Selene is.

The Selene Community
On any given day you will encounter another Selene in what looks and feels like a remote anchorage. This summer we were in a remote anchorage with seven other boats, four of which were Selenes. Selene owners use their boats, and that is one thing we love about the brand and the community.

One of the biggest surprises for those new to Selene is our tight-knit community and strong sense of camaraderie. From sharing technical know-how to tips on marinas, trip preparation, and favorite destinations, the Selene Yachts community is open and inviting to anyone who shares the same love of adventure.
In addition to informal gatherings and cruises to places such as the Bahamas, Selene Americas sponsors an official ‘Rendezvous’ on each coast every year. At this event, dozens of Selene yacht owners gather to share stories as well as undertake new adventures. Selene founder and designer Howard Chen often joins in the fun to meet owners in person and hear their feedback, helping him plan for future yacht improvements. In short, no matter where your Selene takes you, you are never alone.
Many of our favorite experiences have just been sharing the lifestyle with our dear friends and family - and especially watching our grandsons enjoy everything that cruising encompasses. The camaraderie of fellow Selene owners was the unexpected benefit.

Welcome to Our Shipyard
From start to finish, every Selene yacht is designed, built and tested at our state-of-the-art company-owned shipyard in Zhuhai, China. Located in a region renowned for its craftspeople and high-end woodworking industry, Zhuhai also happens to have the ideal climate for fiberglass lamination, for which we use an innovative vacuum infusion process.
After undergoing a recent 400,000 square foot expansion, our Zhuhai shipyard is now one of the best-equipped yacht production facilities in the world – with its own marina, multiple workshops, warehouses, and cranes capable of lifting 125 tons.
Thanks to the efficiency and quality control our new shipyard provides, Selene can promise all of our customers both unrivaled quality and value in the marketplace. We invite every customer to visit the shipyard and see for themselves how much care and quality is put into their own Selene yacht.
