Docking a Selene 60 for the First Time
At the Selene West Coast Owner's Rendezvous in April, special guest Arina Chen of Selene Yachts took the wheel of Selene 60 Ocean Explorer 'Grato' and docked a boat for her first time ever.

In the video below, follow along as Selene Americas Technical Director Dylan Hildebrand walks Arina through the trawler pre-check, start-up and docking process.
With Dylan's help, Arina shows us the proper checks (gear shifter, thrusters, and steering) before setting off for a quick cruise around Roche Harbor, WA. She then demonstrates just how easy it is to both handle and dock a 60+ foot trawler yacht. And stick around at the end to hear Arina's first-hand impressions of docking a boat for the first time.
Other topics in the video include:
• How steering and stopping boats differs from cars
• How sharply large trawlers can turnImportance of visibility from the flybridge
• Testing everything prior to departing the dock
• Using the bow and stern thrusters to turn and dock
• Proper way to tie the line on a dock cleat
